Jurors in JB Danquah Adu murder case desert trial over unpaid allowances since March 2022

Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, late Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu born on 2nd July was, 1965 was murdered in cold blood in his bedroom on 9th February, 2016 by an unknown assailant. Later on some suspects Daniel Asiedu and Vicent Bosso were arrested in connection with his murder.

The members of the jury in the murder trial of the late member of Parliament, JB Danquah Adu have informed the court through a letter addressed to the presiding judge of their inability to continue with the case due to unpaid allowances since March 2022.

The letter said, they will not be able to continue to bear the cost of transportation to and from the court during court hearing days.

On the other hand, in a mini trail, the court admitted to evidence caution statement by the accused which was previously objected by the accused lawyers saying their client gave that stationer duress.

This mini trial was done in the absence of the jury according to section 120(6) of evidence act, to ascertain whether or not to the caution statement should be included in the evidence of prosecution.

During this trial, witnesses including the investigator were crossed examined and after that, the court presided by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo over-ruled the objection by accused persons Lawyers, saying the accused persons gave the evidence caution statement voluntarily with no influence by the police whatsoever.
