To honor Jay-Z's extraordinary journey from Brooklyn's Marcy Projects to a global figure, a special exhibit titled "The Book of HOV" has been unveiled at the Central Station of the Brooklyn Public Library in New York City.

Iconic rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z has achieved another remarkable milestone in his illustrious career, becoming the first Black male recording artist to have at least 10 double-platinum solo studio albums. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recently updated its certifications, awarding Jay-Z's 2009 album "The Blueprint 3" with double-platinum status after reaching 2 million album-equivalent sales.

This achievement adds to Jay-Z's already impressive discography, with his 2003 release "The Black Album" attaining quadruple-platinum certification, contributing to his total album sales surpassing 33.5 million copies. Not only is Jay-Z the first Black man to achieve this feat, but he is also only the second Black artist overall.

Mariah Carey, who holds the title as the most commercially successful Black female soloist of all time, boasts 11 solo albums that have sold over 2 million copies domestically. With his two collaborative albums, Jay-Z's total number of double-platinum releases reaches an impressive 12. Collaborations such as his 2004 project with Linkin Park titled "Collision Course" and his 2011 collaboration with Kanye West, "Watch the Throne," have contributed significantly to his chart-topping success.

To honor Jay-Z's extraordinary journey from Brooklyn's Marcy Projects to a global figure, a special exhibit titled "The Book of HOV" has been unveiled at the Central Station of the Brooklyn Public Library in New York City. The exhibit showcases a collection of archival pieces, including original master recordings, previously unreleased photos, awards, plaques, and items worn by Jay-Z during live performances, among other memorabilia.

The opening celebration of "The Book of HOV" took place last Thursday and attracted a star-studded guest list. Notable attendees included Lil Uzi Vert, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, Kevin Liles, Questlove, Alicia Keys, Zane Lowe, Jayson Tatum, Steve Stoute, Paul Rosenberg, Miguel, and Jay-Z's mother, Gloria Carter, and her wife, Roxanne Wilshire. Of course, Jay-Z's wife, Beyoncé, and their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, were also present to support the hip-hop legend.

Jay-Z's remarkable achievements in the music industry continue to shape the landscape of hip-hop and inspire aspiring artists. As the first Black male recording artist to achieve this milestone, he leaves an indelible mark on the industry, and "The Book of HOV" exhibit serves as a testament to his incredible journey and influence.
