Justice Simmons granted the application partially, stating that Anas had previously been seen in public wearing his beads as a mask, justifying his ability to testify in public with the mask on.

In a high-profile case involving former Ghana Football Association President Kwesi Nyantakyi, investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has refused to show his face to Nyantakyi and his lawyers in chambers before the court proceedings.

The decision comes after the High Court in Accra ordered Anas to testify in open court but allowed him to disguise himself during his testimony.

The ruling by Justice Marie Louise Simmons came following an application by the prosecution to have Anas testify in camera. However, lawyers representing Nyantakyi opposed the application and requested that Anas testify in open court with his face visible.

Justice Simmons granted the application partially, stating that Anas had previously been seen in public wearing his beads as a mask, justifying his ability to testify in public with the mask on.

Anas, who heads the private investigative firm Tiger Eye P.I., has released a statement explaining the risks associated with revealing his face to Nyantakyi.

The statement highlights the dangers to Anas's security and safety, particularly in light of the assassination of another investigator, Ahmed Hussein Suale, who was a key witness in the case. Suale was murdered shortly after engaging with the Attorney General's office regarding his testimony against Nyantakyi.

The statement further mentions the threats made against Suale by Nyantakyi and the subsequent revelation of Suale's identity on national television and social media by Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin-Central constituency.

Given these circumstances, Anas has declined the invitation to reveal his identity to Nyantakyi in the judges' chambers or any other location to protect his life.

Tiger Eye P.I. fully supports Anas's decision, emphasizing the need to prioritize caution to prevent any potential harm to its investigators.

The firm highlights the relentless media and other campaigns aimed at undermining their operations and the principles upheld by Anas, which confront corruption and social injustice in Ghana.

Despite these challenges, Tiger Eye P.I. remains resolute in its fight against corruption and societal ills. Anas expresses gratitude to the people of Ghana for their support and protection as he continues his important work.
